"But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have builded!" — 2 Chronicles 6:18 (ASV)

But will God indeed. —Or, what? will God, etc.—The Septuagint imitates the Hebrew ὅτι εἰ; Vulgate, “ergone credibile est ut habitet Deus?”

With men. —Not in the Book of Kings. Syriac, “with his people, Israel;” Arabic, “with his people.” (Compare to Revelation 21:3.)
