SCRIPTURE

"then hear thou from heaven, even from thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name." — 2 Chronicles 6:33 (ASV)

Then. — Kings omits (And); but compare 2 Chronicles 6:30; 2 Chronicles 6:27; 2 Chronicles 6:23, which have the particle. Some manuscripts of Kings, as well as its Septuagint and Syriac versions, also have this particle.

People.The peoples.

And fear you. — Better without and; as in Kings, that they may fear thee. The Syriac version also supports this reading.
