Charles Ellicott Commentary 2 Chronicles 7:14

"if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." — 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ASV)

My people, who are called by my name. —See the margin; 2 Chronicles 6:33; Amos 9:12; Jeremiah 14:9. The sense is: who are dedicated to me.

Humble themselves. —Leviticus 26:41, in a similar context.

Seek my face. —Psalms 24:6; Psalms 27:8.

Turn from their wicked ways. —Hosea 6:1; Isaiah 6:10; Jeremiah 25:5.

Heal their land. —Psalms 9:4.
