"Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about." — 2 Kings 6:14 (ASV)
A great host. —Of infantry. Not, however, an army but a company. (See 2 Kings 6:23.)
They came by night. —So as to take the city by surprise.
