"And it came to pass, as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to-morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria;" — 2 Kings 7:18 (ASV)
To the king. —The Septuagint and Syriac have, “to the messenger.” (See Note on 2 Kings 6:23.)
In this and the following verse the author repeats the prediction and its fulfilment with obvious satisfaction. The moral is a warning against unbelief.
