"to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba." — 2 Samuel 3:10 (ASV)

To translate the kingdom. —This sudden expression of Abner’s resolve seems to imply that he had previously considered the matter, and shows that there was some basis for Ish-bosheth’s reproach. The following verse clearly reveals the utter weakness of Ish-bosheth.
