Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;" — Acts 1:10 (ASV)
Two men stood by them in white apparel.—Better, were standing, as their appearance was sudden and their approach unnoticed. The forms were like those that had been seen at the portals of the empty sepulchre, bright and beautiful in appearance, and clothed in white garments, like the young priests in the Temple. (See Note on Luke 1:12.)
