"And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified." — Acts 19:17 (ASV)
Fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.—The event just narrated had shown that the sacred Name stood on an entirely different level from the other names that exorcists had employed. It was a perilous thing for people to use it rashly, without inward faith in all that the Name implied. People esteemed it more highly than they had before, because they saw the punishment that fell on those who had profaned it.
