"And when he had saluted them, he rehearsed one by one the things which God had wrought among the Gentiles through his ministry." — Acts 21:19 (ASV)
He declared particularly . . .—Better, one by one, or, in detail, the adverb of the Authorised version having acquired in modern English a slightly different meaning. This must, it is obvious, have implied a narrative of considerable length, including an outline of all that had passed since the visit of Acts 18:22, and ending with an account of the contribution which he and his companions had brought with them from nearly all the churches of the Gentiles.
