"Yea and all the prophets from Samuel and them that followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days." — Acts 3:24 (ASV)
All the prophets from Samuel.—Samuel is named, both as being the founder of the school of the prophets, and so the representative of the “goodly fellowship,” and as having uttered one of the earliest of what were regarded as the distinctively Messianic predictions (2 Samuel 7:13–14; Hebrews 1:5).
