"for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus." — Acts 8:16 (ASV)
As yet he was fallen upon none of them.—The same verb is used of the gift of the Spirit in Acts 10:44; Acts 11:15, and of Peter’s trance in Acts 10:10. It is clearly used to express an unexpected change in a person’s normal state of consciousness, the sudden arrival of new powers and feelings.
