"And as Lydda was nigh unto Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men unto him, entreating him, Delay not to come on unto us." — Acts 9:38 (ASV)
Desiring him that he would not delay.—The better manuscripts give the message somewhat more dramatically, “Do not delay,” and “Do not be reluctant to come.” It was, of course, necessary that he should come at once, as interment would have taken place, as a matter of course, on the following day.
