Charles Ellicott Commentary Amos 6:7

"Therefore shall they now go captive with the first that go captive; and the revelry of them that stretched themselves shall pass away." — Amos 6:7 (ASV)

Therefore (as a punishment for this self-indulgence) they shall go into captivity at the head of the captives, and the shout of the loungers (rioting in their banquets) shall cease. All their loud merriment will come to a sorry end.
