Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters` clay, and part of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay." — Daniel 2:41 (ASV)
Shall be divided.— The meaning seems to be, “although there will be internal divisions in this last empire, as is indicated by the divisions, first into two legs, then into two feet, and finally into ten toes, yet its outward character will be the strength of iron.”
