"and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day." — Deuteronomy 29:28 (ASV)

And the Lord rooted them out. — Compare 1 Kings 14:15, He shall root up Israel out of this good land. The word is not uncommon in Jeremiah.
