SCRIPTURE

"and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son`s son, what things I have wrought upon Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know that I am Jehovah." — Exodus 10:2 (ASV)

That thou mayest tell. —Those who experience God’s mercies are bound to hand on the memory of what He has done for them to future generations. Natural gratitude would prompt such action. But, lest the duty should be neglected, the Israelites had it at this time constantly enjoined upon them (Exodus 12:26–27; Exodus 13:14–15; Deuteronomy 32:7; Joshua 4:6, and other passages):
