Charles Ellicott Commentary Exodus 12:51

"And it came to pass the selfsame day, that Jehovah did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts." — Exodus 12:51 (ASV)

This last verse of the chapter would more appropriately begin Exodus 13, with which it should be united. Translate: And it came to pass, on the very same day that the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies, that the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, etc.
