"And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mount Horeb onward." — Exodus 33:6 (ASV)
And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments — that is, left off their ornaments, ceased to wear them altogether.
By the mount Horeb. —Rather, from mount Horeb, that is, from the time of their first discarding them in Horeb (that is, Sinai).
