Charles Ellicott Commentary Exodus 40:22

"And he put the table in the tent of meeting, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the veil." — Exodus 40:22 (ASV)

Put the table ... upon the side of the tabernacle northward. —On the right hand to one facing towards the veil. Moses may have known the right position from the pattern which was shown him in the mount (Exodus 25:40).
