Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive." — Ezekiel 18:27 (ASV)
Shall save his soul alive. — This does not mean that anyone can by their own power save themselves, for that question is not under consideration here at all, but that the consequence of a certain course of conduct will be their salvation, and that adopting that course is within their own choice.
