Charles Ellicott Commentary
"But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them." — Ezekiel 20:13 (ASV)
Rebelled against me. —See Exodus 32:1-6; Numbers 14:1–4; Numbers 14:16; Numbers 25:1–3; and for the desecration of the Sabbath in particular, Exodus 16:27; Numbers 15:32.
I will pour out my fury. —Compare Exodus 32:10; Numbers 15:12; and on Ezekiel 20:14 compare Note on Ezekiel 20:9.
