"The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojourner wrongfully." — Ezekiel 22:29 (ASV)

The people of the land, — that is, the common people, not belonging to any of the above classes. In regard to their general corruption see Ezekiel 18:0.
