"Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness." — Ezekiel 23:48 (ASV)

To cease. —By the removal of the sinners. “All women,” in accordance with the allegory, means all nations. The judgments upon Israel were then, and for all time, to be a conspicuous monument of God’s righteous severity.
