"That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered." — Ezekiel 24:8 (ASV)

I have set. —Here God Himself is said to do that which has just been charged against Jerusalem. There is no inconsistency between the statements; Jerusalem gloried in her crimes, and God made those crimes conspicuous as the cause of her punishment.
