"For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee;" — Ezekiel 26:19 (ASV)

Bring up the deep upon thee. — With Ezekiel 26:19 begins the closing section of this prophecy, and in it the other parts are summed up and emphasized. The figurative language by which the overwhelming of Tyre is here described is again appropriate to her natural situation.
