"Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord Jehovah." — Ezekiel 32:14 (ASV)

Deep should rather be rendered quiet. When the restless ambition of Egypt is curbed, there would come about peace and quiet prosperity. This is thought by many to be a glance forward at the Messianic blessing of the future; but it does not necessarily look so far.
