"But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they went." — Ezekiel 36:21 (ASV)

Pity for mine holy name. The meaning of this has already been explained in the Note on the previous verse. In the following verses, it is emphasized that God would restore His people, not for their sakes, but for His own.
