SCRIPTURE

"Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In that day when my people Israel dwelleth securely, shalt thou not know it?" — Ezekiel 38:14 (ASV)

Shalt thou not know it?—The second part of this prophecy (Ezekiel 38:14–23), describing the doom of Gog, is introduced (Ezekiel 38:14–16) with a repetition of the peaceful security of Israel, and of God’s leading against her this great foe in whose destruction He shall be magnified before all people. The whole passage becomes clearer by omitting the question and reading simply, “When Israel dwells securely you will observe it and come,” etc.
