Charles Ellicott Commentary Ezekiel 39:25

"Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for my holy name." — Ezekiel 39:25 (ASV)

Now will I bring again the captivity.—It was needed for the exiles in their distress that the prophet at the close of this far-reaching prophecy should bring out the first step in the long course of events leading to its fulfilment. This was because that step was one of special interest and comfort to them. But even this promise is mingled with predictions which still point to the then distant future.
