Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for burnt-offerings to the God of heaven; [also] wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests that are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;" — Ezra 6:9 (ASV)
Both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs. — An accurate account of the provision required for the sacrifices and meat offerings of the daily service of the Temple: its accuracy will be seen by consulting Exodus 29 and Leviticus 2.
Appointment here is simply the word: that is, pertaining to direction.
