"And Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land." — Genesis 23:12 (ASV)

Abraham bowed down. —This act of reverence by the patriarch is the Eastern custom of expressing thanks for a granted request; this is also seen in Genesis 23:7. The next step is to fix the price.
