"And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father`s brother, and that he was Rebekah`s son. And she ran and told her father." — Genesis 29:12 (ASV)

Her father’s brother. —Really his nephew; but terms of relationship are used in a very indefinite way in Hebrew. (Compare to Genesis 29:5, Genesis 29:15, Genesis 13:8, and others.)
