"And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;" — Genesis 35:11 (ASV)

God Almighty. —Heb., El-shaddai, the name by which God had entered into the covenant with Abraham (Genesis 17:1).

A company. —Heb., a congregation of nations. (See Genesis 28:3, where it is a congregation, or church, of peoples.)
