"And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies:" — Genesis 42:14 (ASV)
That is it ... — Joseph persists in his charge, because, in addition to the information that he gained, he also wished to get Benjamin into his power, so that he could have him with him. As for his brothers, he probably still had no settled purpose, but he would naturally feel great indignation at the treatment he had experienced at their hands, and might not have been unwilling to give them some degree of punishment.
