"For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it." — Habakkuk 2:11 (ASV)

The stone shall cry out. —Every stone in those giant walls reared by the enforced labour of captives cries aloud to accuse the Babylonian. Every spar out of the woodwork attests the charge.
