"For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea." — Habakkuk 2:14 (ASV)

With the knowledge. —Better, as concerns the knowledge. See the same promise in Isaiah 11:9. It is here introduced in contrast to the short-lived glory of Babylon. The enslaved nations raised the Babylonian palaces only for the fire to destroy them. But Jehovah’s glory shall be made known throughout the whole world, and shall not be effaced.
