Charles Ellicott Commentary
"By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them." — Hebrews 11:28 (ASV)
Through faith he kept.—Rather, By faith he has kept . The celebration of the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood were acts of obedience, referring to a danger still unseen, but present in God’s word (Exodus 12:12).
Lest he that destroyed.—Better, that the destroyer of the first-born may not touch them (Exodus 12:28–29).
