Charles Ellicott Commentary
"It is thy destruction, O Israel, that [thou art] against me, against thy help." — Hosea 13:9 (ASV)
In me ... Help. —The close of this verse is rhetorically abrupt, which is altogether missed in the English version. Render, but against Me your help. We must supply “You have rebelled,” the construction being the same as in Hosea 13:16. “Your captivity, O Israel, is from you; your redemption is from Me; your perishing is from you; your salvation is from Me” (Pusey).
