Charles Ellicott Commentary Isaiah 29:24

"They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall receive instruction." — Isaiah 29:24 (ASV)

They that murmured shall learn doctrine. —Better, instruction. The word is prominent in the sapiential books of Israel and is therefore adapted to describe the process of growth and education that followed conversion. The word “murmured,” also, is noticeable, as occurring only in Deuteronomy 1:27; Psalms 106:25, which its use here may echo.
