Charles Ellicott Commentary
"For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah;" — Isaiah 30:9 (ASV)
That this is a rebellious people. —The words that follow were those which were so written on the tablet. The people themselves did not know the law of the Lord, the eternal law of right. They wished the seers, like Isaiah, to be as blind as themselves, and would willingly have made the prophets tune their voice according to the time.
