"In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee." — Isaiah 54:14 (ASV)

Thou shalt be far from oppression ... —On the assumption of Isaiah’s authorship, the words stand out in contrast with his own experience of the “oppression” of Ahaz, and of the “fear” and “terror” caused by Sargon and Sennacherib.
