SCRIPTURE

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness which is of me, saith Jehovah." — Isaiah 54:17 (ASV)

Every tongue that shall rise ... —The thought implied is that war comes as the punishment of guilt, and that it is preceded by the “cry” of accusation. Many such cries had risen up against the old Jerusalem (Isaiah 5:7). No such cries should be heard against the new.

This is the heritage. —The solemn asseveration indicates the close of a distinct section.
