SCRIPTURE

"Thou wast wearied with the length of thy way; yet saidst thou not, It is in vain: thou didst find a quickening of thy strength; therefore thou wast not faint." — Isaiah 57:10 (ASV)

You are wearied in the greatness of your way ... — Better, with the length of your journey— i.e., with the long embassies to Assyria, and to Babylon, which was at that time the residence of its kings. For there is no hope, meaning, there is no result, or profit. Judah would not acknowledge that the negotiations were fruitless.

You have found the life of your hand ... —The words are a literal rendering, and convey the meaning, You did renew the strength of your hand—i.e., Judah found an imagined increase of power in the alliance she was seeking, and therefore did not repent of her ignominious diplomacy.
