Charles Ellicott Commentary Isaiah 60:22

"The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Jehovah, will hasten it in its time." — Isaiah 60:22 (ASV)

A little one shall become a thousand. —The noun is probably to be taken not in its merely numerical value, but, as in Judges 6:15, 1 Samuel 23:23, Micah 5:2, for a clan or sub-division of a tribe.
