"From thence also shalt thou go forth, with thy hands upon thy head: for Jehovah hath rejected those in whom thou trustest, and thou shalt not prosper with them." — Jeremiah 2:37 (ASV)

From him. —Better, from it, that is, from Egypt as a people.

Your hands upon your head. —The outward sign of depression and despair (2 Samuel 13:19).

Your confidences. — That is, the grounds or objects of your confidence.
