"Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;" — Jeremiah 25:19 (ASV)

Pharaoh king of Egypt ... —The list of the nations begins, it will be seen, from the south and proceeds northward; those that lie on the east and west being named, as it were, literally, according to their position. The Pharaoh of the time was Necho, who had been defeated at Carchemish.
