"For thus saith Jehovah, Thy hurt is incurable, and thy wound grievous." — Jeremiah 30:12 (ASV)

Thy bruise is incurable ... —The mind of the prophet dwells on the seeming hopelessness, in words which sound like an echo from his Lamentations (Jeremiah 2:13), in order to enhance the blessedness of the reverent utterance of hope which appears in Jeremiah 30:17.
