Charles Ellicott Commentary Jeremiah 32:33

"And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: and though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction." — Jeremiah 32:33 (ASV)

They have turned to me the back ...— It will be remembered that this image was more or less a favorite one with the prophet. (See Notes on Jeremiah 2:27; Jeremiah 7:24.) The same is true of the rising up early. (See Notes on Jeremiah 7:13; Jeremiah 7:25.)
