"The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Jehovah our God, the vengeance of his temple." — Jeremiah 50:28 (ASV)

The voice of them that flee ... —The abruptness of the opening words, as if the prophet heard the cry of the escaping exiles, would be perhaps best represented by Listen, the voice ... The words that follow define the cry as coming chiefly from the captive Jews, who see in the destruction of Babylon the vengeance of Jehovah for the destruction of His Temple.
