SCRIPTURE

"The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and, My blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say." — Jeremiah 51:35 (ASV)

The violence done to me and to my flesh ... —The imagery of the “dragon” or “crocodile” is continued. The “female inhabitant of Zion” pleads that her “flesh” and “blood” have been devoured by the Babylonian conqueror, and asks for the application of the law of retribution.
